This show was performed on the Friday 24th and Saturday 25th of September 2004, to small but appreciative audiences.
'Our play this year is the side-splitting comedy, ‘Busybody’ by Jack Popplewell. Written in the mid 1960s, it’s
lost none of its humour or appeal in the last 40 years.
The setting for this whodunit is the office of the owner of a development company, Mr Marshall. The play explores
the complicated relationships that are found in every office in the country and follows the investigations of
Superintendent Baxter and his Sergeant, Goddard, as they try to get to the bottom of a mysterious series of events
and murder. They are ably hindered in their enquiries by the office cleaner, Mrs Piper. The prime suspects are
Mrs Marshall, and the office staff – Vickie Reynolds, Marion Selby and Robert Westerby.
This hilarious script is packed full of humour and one-liners. Definitely not to be missed!'
