20th January 2010 - Little Shop Of Horrors

News from the Arts Guild camp so far this year is that the casting for Little Shop Of Horrors has been completed this evening, here's hoping that everyone who wanted a part got the one they wanted. So now rehearsals start in ernest, although, they don't start until 3rd February as we have Annual General Meeting on the 27th January. 17th December 2009 - Little Shop Of Horrors

We are looking for new members to come and join us for our next production, Little Shop Of Horrors. If you fancy being on stage for this show, to be staged between 7th and 11th September 2010, you can come along to the pre-audition sing-throughs. The pre-auditions are to be held on 6th and 13th January 2010 at Whitkirk Church Hall (LS15 0AA)at 7.30pm. 17th December 2009 - What a brilliant pantomime.... (oh yes it was)

Beauty and the beast was another excellent show, all the cast were fantastic. Thank you to everyone that helped and gave their time and effort in making this show a great experience for the cast and most importantly the audience. We hope that everyone who came enjoyed it.

12th July 2009 - Show Complete Success

Back to the Future was a brilliant show and everyone who saw it loved it. It was a great crowd pleaser for all ages. A big thank you to all who helped and gave there time and effort in making this show such a big success!

26th April 2009 - Rehearsals going well for show

Rehearsals are well under way for Back To The Future. The song words are being learnt and the cast are stepping through the dances. The show promises to be a great review, it promises to have something for everyone of every age.


9th December 2008 - Next show annouced - Back To The Future

We are please to annouce our next show - Back To The Future - A mix of music and sketches from past era's right up to modern day. Rehearsals start on Wednesday 7th January. If you want to come and join in with our society, this is the best time. Why not start a new hobby with the new year and come to Whitkirk Church Hall on the 7th to meet us and to see what we are all about.

We have also added pictures taken during the dress rehearsal of our last show, Dick Whittington. The pantomime was enjoyed by everyone, every night the audiences boo-ed and cheered, laughed at the jokes and joined in with the audience participation song, the sound crew mentioned they should have been issued with ear defenders on the Saturday night as the audience was so loud!

We have launched the booking form for Dick Whittington.
More information about the pantomime will appear on this site as soon as we have it.

12th August 2008 - Panto time is on its way

Our Pantomime this year is going to be Dick Whittington. It is going to be performed between Tuesday 2nd till 6th December 2008.
Rehearsals are well underway and all the parts are cast.
The ticket prices are £6.00 for adults and £4.00 for concessions.
Bookings are open through Arts Guild members and our normal online reservation form will be available in the next few days.

8th May 2008 - Trivial Pursuit Cancelled

Due to unforeseen circumstances the Arts Guild production of Trivial Pursuits will not take place this July.
It is with great regret that the committee have had to cancel the production and would like to thank all members who have worked so hard at rehearsals in the past few months.
Work has already started on our pantomime in December so please look out for future information.

13th February 2008

February is here and our next show, Trivial Pursuit, has been cast. Our online booking form is now live and you can get to it from the link on the left.
We are off on holiday too with our annual weekend away in Helmsley. Whitkirk Arts Guild hire the whole of Helmsley youth hostel for the whole weekend. The majority of the weekend is spent relaxing and enjoying the peace. Some of us go for a relaxing walk in the country side, some of us end up going to the coast. Hopefully we'll have a great weekend.

16th January 2008 - Looking forward to 2008

After the success of our last show, we're now looking forward an exciting 2008.
We've got an exciting year ahead including many social evenings and also two fabulous shows. Firstly we've got our play in July. The play is called Trivial Pursuit, an hilarious comedy that's well worth coming to see.
We've also got weekends away planned as well as our annual dinner dance.
May we take this opportunity to say thank you for your support in the last year and hope we have many more years as good as 2007, happy new year!

4th December 2007 - Show Week

Well.... first night is over and what a show, everyone laughed in the right places and the audience had a great time. We even had the writer of the script in tonight, who thought it was fantastic. Good news is that the Friday night of our pantomime is now fully booked, well done if you've managed to get tickets for this night. There are still plenty of tickets left for the other nights. 8th October 2007 - Valued Member Passes Away

It is a sad time for Whitkirk Arts Guild as we mourn the sad loss of Paul Chadwick who sadly passed away on Tuesday last week.
Paul has been a valued member of the society for 5 years. He played a full roll in our society including Musical Director and taking lead rolls in many shows between 2002 and now.
Paul will be missed and our wishes are with his loved ones.

10th September 2007 - Pianist / Accompanist Required

We are currently seeking an experienced pianist / accompanist to joining our society.
We are wanting to perform a musical in July next year, unfortunately if we can not find a pianist willing to come and play for us then we will have to resort to perfoming a play.
